Tom Townsley's Blues Project

A prominent figure in the CNY blues scene since 1985. Founder of The Cold Shot Blues Band (winner of the Seagram's Talent Search in 1987), then front man and harmonica player for Tom Townsley & The Backsliders for several decades, Tom has also performed with many national artists including Muddy Waters Band alums Jimmy Rogers and Pinetop Perkins, as well as Kenny Neal, Rod Piazza, Mark Hummel, Big Daddy Kinsey, and Henry Gray, and his bands have opened for countless more. Townsley's CDs have garnered excellent reviews and international airplay. In addition, Townsley for many years was a contributing writer for Blues Revue magazine and a DJ with a blues show on WAER, Syracuse. His current band, Tom Townsley's Blues Project, consists of longtime musical partner Morris Tarbell on guitar/vocals, newcomer Jake Lozo also on guitar/vocals, and a veteran rhythm section, Sean Peters on bass and Lenny Milano on drums. Together, this group has put on various specialty shows highlighting different styles of blues, as well as showcasing original music, mostly Townsley compositions. These shows have been well-received and led to invitations to play showcases and festivals. Be sure to catch them while you can!
