Literary Read & Meet with Deirdre Sinnott
Join author Deirdre Sinnott, CCS graduate, class of '78, at the Kirkland Art Center on Saturday, July 18th at 12 noon. She will be reading from and discussing her new historical novel, "The Loyalist's Wife: A Novel of the American Revolution."
"It’s 1777 in New York’s fertile Mohawk Valley, and tenant farmers Jane and Philip Hopper have very different ideas about the war for independence that has consumed the 13 colonies. When Philip is arrested for his Loyalist views, Jane is left to fend for herself."
Copies of "The Loyalist's Wife" and her first novel "The Third Mrs. Galway" will be available.

Please join us for the Annual Membership meeting of the Kirkland Art Center on Monday, June 15, at 5:30 p.m. in the Art Center gallery. You'll get to see the architect's renderings of our future kitchen and art studios; learn about the amazing music, classes, theater and exhibitions that take place here; and enjoy refreshments with the Board and other KAC members.
We need your vote! Members approve the budget AND the selection of new board members. The Board oversees the Art Center on behalf of the membership so our members – including you! – are central to what takes place here.

Come hear renowned artist Eric Alugas speak about his work currently on exhibit - this large-scale, complicated art is worth exploring with the artist, born in Louisiana and now residing in NYC. Alugas's work unites threads of literature, the physical process of painting, and the unsettled complexities of American history. He will speak at 4:00 p.m. in the gallery. Don't miss it!

Annual 5K Run Walk
Annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Run
Registration is still open for the 47th Annual KAC 5k Run & Walk and Youth Fun Run is this Saturday, June 6th. The 5K starts on Elm Street at 8:30 and the Youth Runs are from the 5K finish line on Williams St at 9:15. Registration can be found online here. While it just lists a kids 1 mi run, there will also be a ~0.4 mi distance and all ages and abilities are very welcome!
