The classes are for beginners who wish to learn and practice yoga breathing for health, as well as using the breath for meditation. Three yoga breath techniques will be covered over the three-week period, one technique dedicated for each class.
Please wear comfortable clothing. If you have a yoga matt please bring with you. For those who prefer to sit, chairs will be provided.
For participants who might be pregnant, please consult with your health care provider first as yoga breathing involves using the diaphragm. Furthermore, one of the yogic breath techniques that will be covered involves rapid nostril breathing (breath of fire) which might pose a contraindication for those who may be pregnant, or have high blood pressure. If you feel you may have these or other possible medical conditions that might pose restrictions seek the advice of your health care provider first.
Please try to avoid eating a heavy meal before class. Give yourself at least one hour for digestion before classes commence.
