Tiny Tots Perform Coppelia

The Mohawk Valley Ballet gives young ballet students the opportunity to participate in professional level ballet productions like the Nutcracker every year.  Participating in full stage productions gives the students a broader idea of what it takes to put on a performance. Each year the upper level students take what they have learned and put it into practice during the annual production of Tiny Tots at the Kirkland Arts Center.  Tiny Tots is a completely student led production that is put on for local Kindergarteners and Pre- School students.  Every spring the MVB dancers choose a story, select music, choreograph dances, design sets and rehearse and prepare this special production.  It is truly a production that is a learning experience for everyone.  The oldest students have the opportunity to try their hand at leading a production.  The dancers who perform are the usually those in their tweens and early teens and Tiny Tots gives them a chance to dance larger roles than they likely have had the opportunity to do in other MVB productions.  The audience is made of up young children who delight in this wonderful show that is truly tailored to their interests.

The Kirkland Art Center has long been the home of this special show and provides an intimate venue for the young children to experience ballet for what is for many, the very first time.  The show is interactive and allows the children to see the dancers up close, hear the story read to them as well as danced out before their eyes, and meet the dancers after the show.  It is a lovely experience not to be missed.

The performances are set for Monday, April 16th and Tuesday, April 17th, 2018.  We are having performances on each of those days: 9:30 am, 10:30 am and 12:30pm on Monday and 9:30 am and 10:30am on Tuesday.  Each performance lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Admission is $3 per person. Attending adults should be limited to the number needed to supervise. Teachers are to collect the admission fees and send payments to the Kirkland Art Center in advance, along with the reservation form below. You must call or email the KAC to reserve space for your school group. Reservations will be honored on a first come-first served basis.
