Highland Dancing

 

Scottish Highland Dancing is an athletic form of dance and is an excellent way to strengthen your muscles and your mind. 

Beginner Highland Dancing

No Class: 2/19, 3/18, 4/8, 4/22

For dancers ages 7-adult, new to Highland dancing or with some experience.  Students will learn traditional Highland movements and steps to develop coordination and improve stamina.  Students will learn particular sequences/dances appropriate to individual development, and are expected to practice daily at home.  Preparing for competition and/or performance will also be a focus of the class.

Scottish Highland Dancing is an athletic form of dance and is an excellent way to strengthen your muscles and your mind, as well as cross-train for other sports.  For dancers ages 13-adult with prior experience and teacher approval.  Students will focus on competition-level dances appropriate to individual development, and are expected to practice daily at home.  Learning more detailed movements and performance aspects are also a focus of the class.

Highland Requirements

Highland Dance (all classes): leotard or fitted t-shirt, close fitting leggings/shorts or tights, socks, black ghillies or black ballet slippers. Some smaller size ghillies are available to borrow. Contact the teacher before class starts to inquire.

*Highland Dancing will not run the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

 

Line Dance

Drop In Rate: $5 per class

In this Beginners and Intermediate

level class, students will learn all

styles of dance, including the waltz,

rumba, tango, cha cha & samba to a

variety of music.

Intermediate
